new here to site and joined based on my interest in having braces for myself.  I had never considered braces and went into one place several months ago for a consult based on recommendation from my new dentist.  I was scared to death as a 43 year old walking in, but staff was nice, the doctor she was great, and my interest started that very day - getting the x rays done, impressions taken, and having the doctor tell me I could use treatment, but need a tooth removed first.  Now, I want to see very video and picture of braces being done.  I don't think I'll have any on me, but love when people have lots of appliances in their mouth or headgear on.   After I get a needed crown fixed and the tooth removed, I'll be back in the orthodontist chair in a few months time.   I  will likely have braces on for 22 - 24 months.  cannot wait!

Fetish, definitely. And about the preferences... All at once? The bulkier, the better

Definitely a fetish for me too. There is some sort of stimulating feeling that headgear and bulky appliances give me especially when my head and face are engulfed in metal and straps that cannot be hidden and impede on your natural look and speech. Headgear and facemasks are an extraordinary sight to see especially to live behind :)

Definitely a fetish, I remember in fifth grade this girl in my class got braces and she suddenly became attractive to me. That's when it all started! And still to this day, braces will make any guy more attractive to me ;D

Most DEFINITELY a fetish, though it's quite limited to orthodontic hardware. Braces, tongue cribs, rubber bands, expanders, powerchains, and ESPECIALLY Headgear. If it's orthodontic, I'm  probably going to like it. For me, the fascination definitely started in middle school, though like most, my interest in the orthodontic likely resulted from some kind of childhood "experience" I'm not all aware of. I'll be completely honest: If I knew the experience, I would say. Who knows, maybe I'll figure it out someday.

Stay safe, and Much Love <3

Fetish for me as well. I find myself drawn to the idea that someone else has control over a patient. I am also curious about how many appliances would feel, as I have never had treatment before

For me its definitely fetish.

Its very different for me due to my asexuality as theres no real link to anything inherently sexual about the concept of orthodontia and the fetishism. Its just the concept of it that 'works' for some reason.

For me it's also a fetish.

It all started when I went to high school. A girl had braces, when they were removed I instantly had a crush on her.

Ever since that day my interests about braces began to grow. I really like braces when the teeth are starting to look straight.

Definitely fetish for me.  I've always felt ashamed about it too.  Afraid that it might be misunderstood.

I've only mentioned it to one other person I know personally.  She was my girlfriend at the time and I only told her because she was asking about fantasies and fetishes.  She got a good laugh out of it and it kind of made me sorry that I was honest.

I had another girlfriend who had full band braces and had some pretty heavy elastics at the time.  She asked me if I had any fantasies one night.  I was stunned and finally said ... "you."  ;)  She kind of rolled her eyes and I came up with something else to tell her.  I guess was afraid that she might feel objectified (?) or that the only reason I was interested in her was because of the braces.  I think she had to suspect something because of the interest I showed when she told me she was getting them and even more so after she got them.  She was so much more than some girl with braces.

Anyway, I want to explain that it's not something that makes or breaks my attraction to someone.  I think it takes someone with a fetish to understand a fetish.  My fear is in being looked at like a freak who has no control over their urges.

I fall under the fetish category.  I started getting my complex treatment at the age where girls and boys are just trying to figure out how to flirt and I had a female orthodontist. I think the two started at the same time so became intertwined since.  I hated and loved my braces, appliances, and facemask.  I remembered hating what she was doing to me but at the same time I wanted to make her happy and like me, The weirdest blend of feelings.

What was your treatment?

Panda- It would be a dream situation now, at the time it was a pile of anxiety haha.  I had really crowded teeth and underbite.  My treatment started with fixed upper expander with thick plastic on the upper molars so my front teeth couldn't touch. The expander also had paperclip like springs pushing on the back of my upper teeth.  Had reverse pull headgear that attached to the expander.  Later got lower metal braces and elastics to attach to the expander.  Then was moved to a removable upper expander with lip bumper and was supposed to wear elastics still.  I never completed treatment, teeth got pretty straight but still have underbite.
