Congratulations! They look great! Sry to hear you only got the top arch  I remember getting both arches put on in one sitting, and BOY was I a mess with trying to close my mouth. Of course, the whole experience was colored by my excitement. On the bright side, you get to reexperience the installation for your bottom arch!

I remember for a while a few of my very back teeth had just a bracket and no metal bands, because of gum crowding preventing them from seating a metal band, and it sort of hurt the "metal mouth persona" I was itching to relish in. Id convinced myself that because not all my back teeth were wrapped in metal that I wasnt the real deal. I've since accepted that since visually when my mouth is open you can see metal, that I can proudly justify calling myself a braceface.

Definitely let yourself enjoy this! Cant wait for you to get the bottoms installed! I'm so excited for you, and they look great!

Thank you!! I’ll try to get some less fuzzy pics when I can (maybe tomorrow). But I really love how they look. It’s such a shock seeing them on in the mirror still so adjusting to that. But I just think braces look attractive ? I guess most of us do here haha.

I’m really excited and can’t believe I can say I have braces now. I feel like I wanna show them off too…like I don’t love my smile (my teeth are straight but bite off/upper jaw not forward enough and stuff) but I wanna smile with braces even if I look silly ?? I’m gonna see people on Monday so let’s see if I can show them off!!

Day three was when I started easing off painkillers, but day 5-7 was when it went away. I didn’t take any before, and the pain started hurting bad at about hour 4 for me.

Interesting…I’ll take it easy on foods tomorrow then. I’m glad I only got the tops on though…the pain would definitely be worse if I got both and eating would be harder. I’m feeling my cheeks getting cut up too though…how soon did that get better?


I’m gonna see how people react or if anyone even notices on Monday. I think I’ll just talk normally and see if anyone says anything lol. Having just the top..they’re kinda discreet cause I don’t have a ton of tooth show unless I were expressive. Once I get both, I’ll definitely be in super noticeable ‘brace face’ territory though lol.

Well, the journey has begun!! I think Imma enjoy getting bottoms on and new adjustments/wires throughout ^. Might do crazy colors next time too
