I have seen three adults in headgear in public that I can recall, but all were a long time ago.  One was a man who was about 20 in cervical headgear on a college campus, another was a female in a café in highpull headgear with j-hooks, and another was a female in her 30's wearing cervical gear in a department store.  All three of these were in the late 1970's/early 1980's.

I've only seen an adult wearing headgear in public once. About 10 years ago I saw a woman in her early 20s wearing combination headgear. She just happened to come in to the coffee shop where my girlfriend was working on a Sunday morning. I was surprised because you don't see headgear here all that often, especially on adults.

I haven't seen someone my own age or older wearing headgear in public since I was 14 in the 90s. From time to time I would see it on kids, but after that point, never anyone older and never on an adult at any point.

Never. But I've also never seen **anyone** wear headgear out in public IRL, so...

I feel like if I ever did see someone, it would take everything in me to not stare.

I have seen it one time on a little kid at Seattle International Airport. He was wearing high pull headgear. I have also seen a Rigid External Device aka RED Halo appliance in public on a girl most likely in her 30s. Maybe I should go public and make someone's day lol...

I wear my headgear in public when I'm out of town..... love the feeling of people staring! Not many people talk to me about it... usually just look.

Same  here, wore my HG in public in a supermarket. And had to wait in a long cue before the cashier, next to the entrance.
Have to say i was gathering guts in the car before entering.

I just loved the feeling :)

Gosh I want to go public (daytime) to bad, unfortunately I'm extremely scared and feel that I just need someone at me side mainly someone with orthodontic braces/Headgear fet to support me and ease the sheer awkwardness and stares for me. What's the feeling like after you have fulfilled your Public Headgear Appearance??

^what do you mean by "why did I not dare to do this"? Was it fun? Anyone see you in headgear and or possibly ask/talk about headgear?
