Go for it!
I found the excitement I had about my treatment more than made up for the feelings of insecurity I had over the first few days.  After that, the whole experience was enjoyable.

ohh I hope the excitement overtakes the insecurity for me too. I can always wear a mask if I'm insecure/while adjusting too..but I feel like I'd really want to embrace them and show them off at some point.

Did you feel that enjoyment through the whole duration of having them? And eventually you felt attractive with them on right?

My experience was definitely more enjoyable because of the kink haha. I got a expander as a teen with brackets but because it was so exiting the annoying aspects where doable for sure :)) I really like the look of metal myself so it made it not so shameful to talk ect.
Now I like it more on others but I still would get braces myself again, just to lay there again and have someone decided everything for me and force them on me

Ooh yeah that last part for sure. I feel like I like the somewhat subby aspect of it, being in this chair, others making decisions, cheek retractor in my mouth, not seeing how I look while they're applied. Also like the idea of making someone else get braces (in fantasy scenarios where its plausible). Like deciding I want someone in braces and having it scheduled for them, deciding they're getting metal ones, overseeing the application process (maybe filming it to embarrass them haha), and then teasing them about it afterwards...telling them they look hot and "needed" braces and yeah.

Definitely very out there and just a fantasy haha.

I would have always dreaded the inevitable sign of excitement being worked on at the ortho. I don't know how I should hide it :)

do you think you'd be so turned on it shows/you'd get an erection? It must be harder if you're a guy to hide it. I think my excitement will be nerves and fluttery feels and maybe I'd get wet but I hope not cause thats super embarrassing for me lol(even if no one knows it)

I'm not sure yet. What did you get? Also do you know for what reasons an adult may be required to have headgear? Or one of those appliances that's like a moving bar that connects top and bottom row?
That appliance you’re describing is a herbst, and both are used for overbites. I’m pretty sure that they are both predominantly used in children and teens still growing, but there’s still a chance.

oh man, I have slight underbite. Oh well, just having metal braces would be very exciting for me tbh. Did you have a big shock when you got yours/how did you feel? (assuming you have/had braces)

I was excited to get them, and I was very pleased how they turned out. I have an edge to edge bite and am projected to need elastics and that’s it.

One thing you should keep in mind is that no natter how much you want braces there will be some physical pain when you first get them how much depends on your pain threshold I know you can take pain meds to releve it but nothing kills a fantasy more than pain. I'm not trying to put you off and I know you probably are aware it will hurt at least a bit but feel I should say something. I really wish I could have braces but for me it's impossible  so go for it if you can.

yeah, I bite the insides of my cheeks a lot so im anticipated the braces cutting up the insides of them which might not be so fun. I had Invisalign and the attachments kinda did that. The teeth moving/pressure pain isn't so bad though, I think I'll deal with it fine. Still would be exciting though. Why is it impossible for you?

I don’t know. Are you getting braces soon or have them? How has it been?
I’m like way too excited even thinking about it and no one can know because they’d think I’m insane haha. Like who is this pumped to be getting metal braces as an adult? Just me (and us here) I guess ????

Yes, I felt that sense of excitement throughout my treatment.  And by being really picky about the results and scheduling my appointments as far out as possible, I managed to turn a 9-12 month treatment into just under 3 years.
