What are your braces preferences?
« on: 23. March 2023, 20:44:51 PM »
I'm a brackets guy myself: I think they look the coolest and the most interesting and the different coloured elastics you can get on the brackets are cool to.

"Straight-wire" (if that's the correct term for them) isn't really my style, but when I had real braces to fix my buck teeth I had removable straight-wire ones with a red retainer, I used to chew on them and break them quite a lot  :D but eventually they did what they were intended to do.

I don't like Invisible they're just boring in my opinion: I'm all about the metal baby  ;D :P

I like all sorts of braces (including Invisalign because they aren't really invisible). Assuming that full bands are not an option, my preference would be metal brackets with upper and lower rapid palate expanders and a tongue crib.

However there's a lot to be said for removable 'straight wire' type braces like Hawley retainers because they are quite challenging to wear without lisping.

Brackets are eventually removed  :(
My vote is for a Hawley retainer, as it might just be worn forever.

I like the most the metal brackets. I never had braces before, but still. They are shining in the light and with all the appiances, they are for sure my favourite!

Greetings, Crow

I like metal fixed braces the Most, because they look like cages und you cant take them off. I dont like Invisalign. Removable braces and clear fixed braces arent really my style, but they are better than in braces :)

Definitely metal brackets, with Bands on the molars with tubes for headgear use.
Well visible and not removable.
A palatal expander for the lisp would also be very nice to have and last bit not least the herbst appliance.
That’s my dream setup of my sleepless nights…

As long as it is fixed, having to live every part of your life with them must be a great experience

To be honest, I also don't understand why brackets should be almost invisible. Whether you recognise braces at first or second glance is negligible if you've had treatment for several years.
At some point, everyone will know anyway. If you need treatment, you should own up to it.
Acceptance was much higher 20 years ago. That surprises me.
