Playing with fake headgear
« on: 18. September 2023, 01:18:52 AM »
good night. I've had real braces since April and recently got an extraoral and some bands that I bought online. Do you think my orthodontist will notice if my teeth have moved at the next visit? I'm using it whenever I'm at home but in public I don't dare. any way to carry it? Taking advantage of this, I have my next appointment on Tuesday and I have thought about wearing the color of the fuchsia and turquoise ligs, what do you think?

That depends on two things: whether you're wearing the neck strap, and if so, how much time you've spent wearing it. If you haven't worn the complete kit or haven't spent too long in it, I don't think they'll notice. Headgear takes a relatively long time of continuous use to make a significant enough impact, after all.

So obviously your device is equipped with tubes for the facebow, perhaps you will be entitled to a headgear during your treatment? Otherwise with moderate traction I don't think it could affect your teeth.

How do you get your headgear to stay in? Did your orthodontist put on bands with headgear tubes for you? Or did you somehow install them yourself on your molars?

I have real fixed braces as well and would love to try on some real headgear but can’t think of a way to get them to stay in my mouth since I sadly don’t have molar bands or headgear tubes

Heh, my old post! It worked great on my wife's braces (real and fake). Now she has fakes with tubes, though.

I can send an illustration if you want to DM me.

I bought bands and taking advantage of the fact that they did not put tubes on the upper second molars, I attached the bands and joined them with the facial bow, they fit perfectly.

By the way, I finally had the check-up and I gathered my courage and got them to put the blue and pink rubber bands on me, what do you think? I'm not gay to wear pink, I simply like my braces to stand out since it excites me and I love showing them off and from what I know it is a good combination that stands out, do you know of a more noticeable combination for next time?
