Does anyone know what happened to fakebraces.net?  My girlfriend and I ordered fake braces over the summer.  We received an impression kit, created an impression, sent it back and then never heard back from anyone.  That was in August.  The site has since disappeared. 

We paid them $259.00 so its a bit frustrating...?

Sorry to hear that! I'm pretty sure they went out of business. They were always rather uncommunicative and I think that may have contributed to their demise. They just sort of disappeared one day. Funny thing is, I ordered from them right around the time you did and got the fakes for my wife in about six weeks. They're absolutely great, incidentally, so I can't fault the quality.

On the plus side, I did hear a rumor of another American company starting to offer fake braces and some other similar things. Seems like a tiny market to me, but who knows?

Keep up with the emails, by all means, but I sent them 2-3 emails myself and never got a reply even when their website was up. I think they've completely abandoned the project. What email address are you using? I have two, and can PM you the second if you're unaware of it.

The other company isn't off the ground yet to the best of my knowledge. I'm keeping tabs on it as best I can. We'll see if it actually comes to fruition. I know I said it seemed like a small market, but maybe not, since fakebraces.net had a bunch of people on its Q&A forum asking about their products. What the heck do I know?
