Sandra

Chapter 1
Sandra was a hotshot lawyer. She rarely lost a case and she had quickly built up a hi-profile client list.
However, just recently she had been feeling tired and kept suffering from headaches. She was just feeling ill and this eventually prompted her to visit her doctor.
Sandra's doctor said, "Okay, Sandra, I have the results of your tests."
Sandra shifted uneasily in her seat. "Oh, please be nothing serious," she muttered under her breath.
The doctor said, "Basically, Sandra, you're exhausted. You need a rest. Tell me, do you have any holiday coming?"
Sandra said, "Yes, I'm owed about 6 weeks. I didn't take any time off last year."
"That's why you're so tired Sandra," her doctor said. He continued, "I'd like you to go here to this little island. There is a lady there who will help you. She has some unusual methods, but they work."
"When you say unusual, what do you mean?" asked Sandra.
"It's hard to describe them," her doctor said, "but trust me, you'll be back to your old self in no time."
Sandra went back to her office and explained it all to her boss. The boss agreed to pay for her flights and had his secretary organise the flights and accommodation on the remote island.
3 days later, Sandra was on a plane heading for a nearby island where, after an amazingly smooth landing, she caught a boat to the island. Once there she was taken by taxi to an address her doctor gave her. Sandra was surprised when it seemed to be a tumble-down house that looked nothing like any clinic Sandra had ever seen.
Sandra rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer.
Chapter 2
After a few seconds she heard someone inside half singing, half humming some tune Sandra thought she recognised, then the door opened.
"Hi, you must be Sandra,” she said. “I'm doctor Richardson, pleased to meet you.”
Shaking hands with Sandra. “Come on in,” she said. Sandra followed her inside.
"So,” Doctor Richardson said. “Your doctor back home has told me all about your exhaustion and your headaches.” Sandra nodded. “But I think we can cure you. Tell me, did he tell you how I do it or my methods?”
"No, he just said some of your methods were a little unconventional.”
"Well, that's one way to put it,” said Doctor Richardson. She continued, “I use therapeutic orthodontics, and in your case a bit of orthopaedics too.”
Sandra looked a bit concerned. “I'm not sure about this,” she said.
"Well, it's up to you. I can't force you, but I'd strongly recommend it,” the doctor said.
Sandra thought for a minute. She could feel one of her headaches coming on.
"OK,” she said. “Go ahead, let's see what happens.”
Chapter 3
“Come on into the surgery, Sandra,” Dr. Richardson said.
Sandra made herself comfortable on the examination chair. The doctor said, “Okay Sandra, shall we begin?”
Sandra nodded 'yes'. The doctor cleaned Sandra's teeth, then fixed little metal brackets on them. Sandra could feel her working, but really had no idea what was going on.
Next the doctor installed an archive, then a Herbst appliance. Finally, she fitted a face-bow, which she connected to a facemask using springs.
Sandra felt relaxed. She realised that all the time the doctor had been working there was a tape playing subliminal relaxation messages.
"Almost done,” the doctor said.
"Sandra, give me your hands please.” Sandra did as she was told. The doctor put a pair of clear latex gloves on her hands.
"Sandra, you are not allowed to take these gloves off, okay?”
Sandra again nodded 'yes'. She was so drowsy now that she wasn't really with it.
Chapter 4
When Sandra was properly awake again, the doctor handed her a makeup mirror so she could see her new braces and appliances. Far from being shocked or upset, Sandra found herself actually enjoying her new look. When she had finished, the doctor said, "Sandra, I want you to go home and relax. Just do nothing, you need to wind down."
"Yes, of course doctor, I will, I promise."
"Good girl," said the doctor. "Do you remember what I said about the gloves?"
"Yes," Sandra said. "I'm not allowed to take them off."
"That's it, you got it. I'll see you back here in a week, okay?"
"Yes, I'll see you then," said Sandra.
Sandra went back to her rented apartment. She made herself some soup, which she managed to drink without too much trouble, much to her relief.
After that, she switched on the ancient TV that came with the apartment. The picture looked grainy and washed out. Sandra decided to play with her phone but quickly realised there was no Internet, at least not on her phone. She quickly realised relaxing was all she would be able to do. Soon sleep overtook her. She was dreaming some strange but pleasant dreams.
Chapter 5
A week had gone by and Sandra was back at the ortho's, ready for the next part of her treatment.
As Sandra was getting settled, she said to the doctor, "Is there any chance I can take these gloves off?"
"Don't worry," said the doctor, "soon you'll have some new ones and I promise you won't want to take them off. But for now, yes, you can remove them." Sandra pulled them off. Feeling the cool air on her skin again felt nice.
"Can you stand up for me please, Sandra?" Sandra did as she was asked. "Can you take off your T-shirt and put this on please." Sandra looked at the new top the doc wanted her to wear. It was like a body stocking, but not as fashionable as the ones in the shop.
"Yes, okay," she said. A little while later, Sandra had managed to change, having struggled with getting the bodystocking over her head, until the doc came to help her.
"Now for the next stage of treatment," she said, holding up a back brace as she approached her. Sandra had a moment where she started to panic. "It's okay," the doc said. "Please don't panic, it will be fine, you'll see." Sandra relaxed a little. The doctor put the back brace on her and made adjustments here and there until it fit snuggly, but still gave Sandra room to breathe properly. "Sandra, sit in the chair please," said the doc. Sandra did as she was told. "Hold your arms out, that's it. Good girl." The doctor approached her with two more PVC gloves. These appeared very long and were a translucent blue color. The doctor slid them onto Sandra's hands and up to her shoulders. After a few minutes, Sandra started to feel calm and wonderfully relaxed. "I think I should explain," said the doctor. "The gloves contain a special plant extract that helps calm you. That, now combined with the specially designed back brace and dental braces, are squeezing and molding key pressure points on your body that help you relax."
Sandra was lost for words for a minute. “I'll tell you this, doc," she said, "whatever you're doing, it feels wonderful. Please don't stop," she said.
"Sandra," the doctor said, "you can remain braced for as long as you want. It's really not a problem." Sandra was starting to drift into a warm relaxed blissful sleep. The doctor smiled at her, "Just relax, my dear, all's well."
