This is my first time writing a story. I had this idea for a while i hope you enjoy it excuse the grammar. Please any feedback is appreciated.
A.I. Technology’s inc
Chapter 1
Sara Simmions was a little above average. Born with great genetics she was what you would call perfect. Great hair, eyes, skin and body. But just like with everyone else there was always something that even with great genetics couldnt fix and was her teeth. She was looking online for a dentist to see if her teeth can be fixed and cleaned. Seeing her smile you wouldn’t think she would needed braces. But inside was a totally different story. Crowding, slight gaps in between teeth, misaligned bite the list goes on. Also not seeing a dental hygienist for a few years didnt help either. But Sara finally got a good job with excellent benefits and she intended to use it. While searching for a dentist she found herself on the website A.I. Technology’s. She scrolled through the many options available to her. Everything from eye exams to weight loss to orthopedics anything to do with your health was on this website. She finally found the opinion dentists/orthodontists. She clicked on the link all that popped up was a question.
“What is your inquiry for.”
“Dentist please” she typed
“When was the last time you seen a dentist/ hygienist”
“1 year ago” she lied.
“Please describe your end result”
“I would like clean straight teeth”
“How quickly do you want this done. 1) standard speed 2) most efficient 3) expedite”
Sara thought for a moment she wasn’t in that much of a hurry so she choose 2.
“Will this be a appointment or consultation”
“Appointment”
“Please fill out all boxes on the next page “
The next page asked for her name, address, brith date, medical history, phone number, any insurance etc.
After she filled out everything she had to input her payment information for holding.
“What date will work best for you to come in”
Sara typed the sooner the better.
“Will Friday at 3:00 pm work for you.”
“Yes”
“ we will contact you though text message to remind you of your appointment. Thank you for using A.I. Technology’s.”
The screen went blank then she got a text message for A.I. Technology that she had a appointment for Friday and to bring her photo id and insurance cards. Sara was happy she was finally going to fix her teeth with all the advancements and this beings known as the best of the beat she expected excellent results.
Sara was about to leave work to go home when she got a text message. She looked at her phone it was from A.I. Technology reminding her of her appointment tomorrow with a address for where to go. She got excited and nervous that it was tomorrow. That night at home she made sure she brushed and flossed her teeth well not like it helps at all the dentist know when you dont brush and floss. It just made her feel better. Sara had a hard time falling asleep she was so excited for some reason. In the morning Sara again brushed and flossed all her teeth. Her teeth were kind of yellow and could see some calculus buildup but not that bad. She left for work. At around 2:30 she told her boss she had a dentist appointment and that she had to leave early. She got in her car and input the address in her phone gps. The drive was about 20 minutes. When she pulled in and parked. The building was all white and on the side said “A.I. Technology’s” with a single door under it. She got out and walked though with butter flies in her stomach.
Inside was all white with bright lights above no windows a few seats and a computer screen next to a door. Sara stood there waiting for someone to talk to when she heard a voice calls out.
“Please enter your name on the computer pad”
Sara walked over to the computer and put her full name in.
“Welcome Sara Simmions to A.I. Technology’s. Please insert your id and any insurance cards in the card slot you will get them back when you leave”. Sara took her id and insurance card and put them in the atm looking slot.
“Please enter the door and go to room 4 on her left.”
Sara heard the door unlock. She opened the door to a all white hallway with doors on her left and right. She walked to door nine 4. She opened it to a all white room with bright lights and a single dentist chair. She looked around and saw nothing else no people or cabinets. She felt like she was all alone in this place but the person on the intercom must be here. She walked in and close to the door. She heard it the door lock. This made her feel uneasy when the voice came back.
“Please have a seat Sara”
Sara knew she couldnt back out. This was weird but she knew someone would be coming soon. She sat in the dentist chair which was very comfortable. When she sat down the voice came back.
“Sara you are here for a dental appointment is that correct”
“Yes”
“You would like clean straight teeth is that correct”
“Yes”
“You choose the most efficient method is that correct “
“Yes”
“We will conduct a x-ray scan of your teeth. If any problems are seen we will fix them after your cleaning. This will take approximately 25 minutes”
“ ok sounds good to me”
“We will begin with a xray. Please place both feet on the leg designation and arms on the arm rests”
Sara looked down to see where her legs go and put her hands on the arm rests.
“When you are ready please lay your head on the head rest and say read”
Sara did as she was told and said ready. Immediately straps secured her legs, waist, both arms and head to the chair. It happened so fast Sara didn’t have a chance to react. She tried to pull on the straps and get out but the straps held her down tightly. She tried to struggle free when the voice came back.
“Please restrain from unnecessary movement”
“Why im i tied down!” Sara yelled.
“This is for your safety and the safety of the equipment”
“What!”
At that time the walls broke apart and mechanical arms can out. Sara was shocked.
“What is this i want out now!”
“Please stop struggling Sara this is all A.I. Technology’s top of line equipment engineered at highest quality and safety in mind.”
“Wait i want to talk to someone is someone here i can talk with”
“There are no on site employees at are branch locations. If you wish to talk with a representative you can do so by calling are toll free phone number or by email.”
“Wait then who are you?”
“ i am Chloe a fully automated autonomous A.I. created by A.I. Technology’s to carry out all health related functions. Trust me you are in good hands. My programing is next to flawless.”
Sara’s heart was racing. But she was calming down a little the company did start with A.I. in the name.
“so you will be doing all the procedures?”
“Yes i can see you and my sensors can detect the smallest amount of stress. Like you are nervous. Please be at ease i will take goose care of you.”
“Ok Chloe i trust you”
“Im glad you do now lets begin with your xray we are behind on time”
Metal arms came and placed a lead vest on me. I was told to be still as the xray took photos of my teeth. When that was done a computer screen came up with my xray.
“As you can see your teeth are not very healthy. No extractions except for four wisdom teeth. Crowded lower and crooked canine and bicuspids. Seven cavities located and the back and top molars. These will need to be fixed now. We will begin with a deep cleaning then move on to fillings and then we will begin your braces treatment.”
There was a lot of information at one time. But all she heard was braces.
“Wait braces. I didnt want braces. Just give me a deep clean then ill leave”
“According to you you wanted clean straight teeth. Yes”
“Well yes. But not right now please”
“If not now when. When will you fix your teeth the younger you are the easier it is to move teeth”
“But how long will i be in braces can i get invisible braces or behind the teeth kind?”
“ Yes in your case. Braces are the best bet. But if you want invisible braces we can do that. They might be a little noticeable but in less then a year you will have a fantastic new smile.”
Sara did eventually want to fix her teeth just wasn’t expecting it to be now.
“I know this is a inconvenience and maybe even a little embarrassing. But you will have a fantastic smile for the rest of your life. Smiling, eating even sleeping will be better. What is a little inconvenience to a life time of happiness”
Sara was happy with the kind voice even if it was a A.I. and not a real person.
“Ok Chloe i trust you. Please give me the perfect smile”
“As you wish”
Sara laid on the dentist chair. As the machine arms moved around her.
“We will begin the deep cleaning. eta 15 minutes Please open wide.”
Sara opened her mouth. Glasses were put over her eyes then picks and hooks moved all around her mouth. The machine arms were very delicate and fast. When getting poked to hard i would flinch and Chloe would say sorry and adjust the pressure. It didnt take long for the clean to be done. Water rinsed my mouth and vacuum out. My teeth felt sore but nothing really painful.
“All done with your deep cleaning. Your calculus build up was bad but not gingivitis bad. Be sure you brush and floss regularly.”
“Yes i try my best”
“Brushing in essential to the longevity of your health and teeth. Especially when you have braces”
“Yes i will brush more often”
“Next we will move on to fixing your cavities. This part of the procedure will be to most uncomfortable. To help with any pain and discomfort. Headphones will be provided for the load noise and a numbing agent will be administered to the site of the fillings. Before we proceed which type of fillings would you like. Amalgam or Composite resin”
“ i would like the composite resin that will match my teeth.
“Very well. I will insert a check retractor and gauze. Speech for you will be momentarily disabled. I can still talk with you though the head phones. Shall we begin.”
“Yes im ready”
Headphones were placed on my head”
“Sara would you like music to listen to while the procedure is in progress. Blind twice for yes”
Sara blinked yes. Music filled her ears as she closed her eyes. At that moment a alarm went off in the building. Over the intercom a male voice made a announcement.
“A error has occurred in the facility all programs have been reset to factory settings please do not operate any equipment. Malware has been found. Rogue A.I. has infiltrated. A.I. Chloe has been compromised. Do not operate Chloe repeat do not operate A.I. Chole.”
