Putting on my own steel molar bands
« on: 23. September 2017, 00:12:32 AM »
I’m really excited to try on my new molar bands I bought. They are full steel and have headgear tubes with hooks for elastics.  My problem is that my molars touch so having them slide around my entire molar they get pinched between my teeth. I’m trying to find a way to make spacers so I can have enough gap that I can bite down and have them slide right on to the lower rear molars. Having these opens a world of exciting possibilities with all the things I can do to get my fetish into full swing. I dream of one day having all my molars fully banded in steel so I can attach several rubber bands for maximum tension.
They only cost 1.99 on EBay.
Shipping was from China...about 1 month
Suggestions please I wanna get banded

Could you not buy spacers and the stretching pliers from the same orthodontic supplies company?

I'm thinking along the same lines as Thelog, just get separators. I glanced on eBay and saw them for $5 with free shipping from China. Might be a bear to get them in yourself, though...

Excellent! Have you glued them also? I managed to force a RPE on once, I wore it for a few hours which was exciting

Not practicing dentistry: you can use the floss technique to get separators in place.

google: placing separators, lots of references

You should be careful doing things to your teeth. You could cause yourself more problems than you can deal with. Moving your teeth around even a little bit can cause unwanted  problems. After you put the bands on, how will you get them off.

I had fake braces years ago, both the essix type and the hawley type.

I finally got real braces a couple years ago after my teeth had shifted a bit.

It is exciting to wear braces and other appliances. I had to get a bracket glued back on today. I asked my ortho if he would be willing to make me a set of clear retainers with braces on them. His response was very positive, and he is willing to do it as part of my treatment.

Hi!!!
I would also like to wear the steel molar bands but I'm afraid to cement them. Is it possible that they remain without glue them? I've also worn invisalign and now I have a fixed retainer in my lower jaw and I'm afraid that the separators for the bands will damage the alignment of the teeth? Any advice??
