Regular vs reverse pull headgear
« on: 27. August 2024, 04:55:10 AM »
I like both types of headgear but if I had to pick one I would choose regular headgear. The feeling of your teeth being pushed backwards by a huge metal bow would probably feel amazing. And you can’t even hide it from anyone! I’m getting so turned on thinking about wearing one.

Have you ever had the pleasure of wearing one before? For how many hours a day did you wear it?

On the flip side, reverse pull headgear must feel amazing too with the thick head straps and the big metal bar going across the middle of your face.

My preference is for regular cervical headgear. I've never worn headgear as part of a real treatment, but I occasionally enjoyed wearing a facebow and cervical strap with my recreational braces. I'm currently having actual treatment, so it is out of the question for the next 12 months or so. However, headgear will be part of the package when I can restart wearing braces for enjoyment only.

Do you like your actual treatment?

Also, have you considered wearing a reverse pull headgear with your actual braces? Because you can attach them to your face using your rubber band hooks. I never tried this but might want to try it to see how it feels

When I had real treatment, I wore a cervical (and combo/high-pull) for fun quite a bit. My braces had headgear tubes so it was pretty easy to try 'real' headgear.

Sadly, I can't because (very much against my preference) my real treatment involves aligners. I tried everything to convince my orthodontist that proper braces would be better, but I couldn't. As I've been a satisfied patient at the same dentist for 20 years, I decided not to go elsewhere. As to whether I like my actual treatment, it is better than I expected. The feeling is quite pleasant, and the aligners are pretty effective... but it isn't braces.
