Spacers on herbst or forsus

I was talking to a friend and he brought up spacers or shims on a herbst or forsus appliance. Has anyone ever seen this or heard of it? What does it look like with one on the bars?

Yes, these spacer rings are often used with the Forsus apparatus or the Sabbagh Universal Spring so that you don't have to replace the entire apparatus.
They are available in sizes of 2.3 and 5 mm.
They can simply be crimped onto the guide bars. No big deal.
