Hawley or Essix style fake braces?
« on: 11. January 2023, 18:44:03 PM »
I'll be purchasing fake braces from bracesshop for my wife sometime soon.

I'm still undecided on whether to go for the hawley style or essix vacuum formed ones. I like the idea of the hawley ones, there's more metal going on and I find the acrylic plates attractive, though worry that the brackets and archwire will move when kissing etc.

The essix ones have the advantage that they'd feel very much like real braces - stuck to the teeth, albeit smooth retainer teeth, though I'm concerned about brackets becoming unstuck. Her teeth are very straight and I can't see her essix retainers at all when she's wearing them.

What do you prefer? We want the braces for fun during intimate times and for sexy photos and videos

I bought the Retainer with Brackets.

I had the following changes made:
1) Thicker plate
2) Plate covering the entire palate
3) Green colored plate
4) Biteplane
5) Headgear Tube with cervical and highpull headgear

When you wear it it seems to have fixed braces.

The nice thing about this device is that it also has the plate.

Having plate produces saliva in the mouth.

The biteplane makes it uncomfortable to talk, but in any case even if with some misunderstanding it is possible to talk.

The biteplane prevents the lower teeth from positioning behind the upper ones and prevents the upper teeth from touching.

I also recommend you to try this device is fantastic.

As a color I recommend the transparent plate so you can only see the brakes and the wire of the bow.

Everyone will think that you have a fixed brace and that a fixed brace creates difficulty speaking.

The brackets do not move, I guess they are welded or glued.

On the brackets there are bubbles as on the real braces.

The bow and the brackets do not put force on the teeth and it should be so.

The appliance is great because you feel like you are wearing a fixed braces.

Regarding the times of realization or any requests sent by email, I can tell you that:

They usually reply to emails after a few days.
Regarding the realization, you have to wait several days for them to send you the material to take the impressions, at most about 5 days.
Then you have to send the impressions made to their laboratory, everything is written there by email or if you have any doubts you can ask them for more details.
After you have sent the fingerprints, wait a maximum of 7 days for the appliance to arrive at your home.

When you place your order, add the 3D Dental Model (Upper & Lower Jaw) in addition to the appliance
I did so and now I can order what I want from the shop, they already have my prints and he doesn't have to send them anymore.

The 3D model of your teeth also arrives at home.

Cool, thanks for your response. We already have a model of my wife's teeth from her orthodontist.

I've been emailing the bracesshop technician, asking about adding steel lacing to the braces, they're responsive and helpful

Can't wait to see my wife with braces again!

For me, the choice would be Hawley every time.
I think that is much stronger and long-lasting.
Also the plastic plate adds interest that only you and she will know about.

Yes, all good points - I'm definitely leaning towards the hawley type braces

@Louis03M Great looking appliance!

@Thelog I also got a hawley retainer with brackets and headgear tubes. I highly recommend it. The brackets are very secure and it looks very real. The essix with brackets doesn't look as real because the essix is somewhat noticeable. Looking forward to seeing what you pick for her!

@bracessd I'm definitely going for the hawley style now, thanks for the recommendation

My wife had her impressions taken for Hawley retainers today, she'll get them back next week. Then I can start plotting some sexy fakes ????

I'll definitely follow up, though it may not be for a couple of months. I want to enjoy the Hawleys and make some good photos and videos. Plus the fakes are not cheap!

Oh I absolutely get that. I am in the process of configuring my perfect first set of fakes. THere are so many options to be thought about. What are some musts and no-gos for your wife's set?

I'm now pretty set on the hawley style, I didn't like the idea of an essix retainer covering her teeth, though her prescribed essixes are completely invisible

I'm not interested in bulky, mouth-filling active appliances - she had fixed braces for many years and that's what I really like

I've been discussing with the bracesshop stainless steel ligature wires, laced around the brackets - there's a couple of options tk decide between for that

Ah I see, I wonder what you will come up with after checking every option.
