Facemask question
« on: 23. November 2018, 19:57:41 PM »
Hello

I am very satisfied with my purchases on braces-shop and I envisage new purchases.

I ordered a facemask on EBAY, I would like to know if it is possible to add on a Frankael or on an activator of solid hooks to fix the elastics of the facemask?

Has anyone ever tried ?

Thank you

Yes, works very nicely, no problem at all. Just tell the shop what you want to have. However, I wouln't recommend an activator. I use plates that fit tightly on the upper jaw, like two Adams clasps on each side or something like that. I have an expander and a reverse twin block with facemask hooks (just tell the shop to add such hooks). A Fraenkel or an activator that sits tight in the upper jaw might work, though.

thank you.

With traditional elastics I made a first try with the hooks of my bionator balters because it fits perfectly on my jaw, it's effective and it fits perfectly. I am waiting to receive orthodontic elastics for testing but I think it should be good, I bought elastics of different strength to see which ones will be best with my facemask Delaire.
