From about 10 to 15 years old, I underwent a pretty standard treatment for overbite, separated and rotated teeth, with the extraction of some babyteeth, cervical headgear and metal braces. But after those years I failed to wear the retainers properly, and now, more than a decade later, my teeth shifted, and I have big gaps between all my front teeth and maybe a slight overbite. My bottom teeth have stayed pretty much the same, apart from a few super small gaps and misalignment. My old top retainer is far from fitting, but the bottom ones fits (with a little force).
Given this, I've finally found, at the age of 27, the courage (and the financial independence) to get braces again. My first visit is scheduled for tomorrow morning, when I'll probably have all the treatment plan. I expect to be fitted in a couple of weeks.
It is a shame I discovered my fetish for braces only later and failed to properly enjoy my headgear (I even failed to wear it for the standard 14h) and the retainers. Due to my slacking, I'm getting a second chance. I have to admit it would be nice getting headgear again, but that is probably just a distant dream. Being realist, I think I'll just get top and bottom metal, maybe elastics, and the retainer of course, after everything.
I just want to see tomorrow what the orthodontist has reserved for me.
