Main character's best friend wears braces and what sounds like a heavy expander for the entire first season (start ep3). Cute girl. Great character. Lots of good moments. Just got picked up for season 2 on HBO.

i think Brooke Palsson as Miriam Goldstein (11 episodes, 2008-2009)
