It is very nice and easy to see the films of this old experienced doctor, but it is difficult to listen to him...

A criticism against these "old men" orthodontists I've had ever since my first traumatic experiences with one: they are 100% focused on the mechanics, and don't give a hoot about the pain, discomfort, or social impact their devices have on their patients.   A kink is a kink, we get that, but the "fun" of that would not last 4 hours and then you have years of trauma to contend with.

I can fully agree to DemBones and may add that it was standard behaviour in those earlier times that these doctors did never talk to young patients, they simply would only talk to the parents.

The thing is: he wasn't an old man back then considering he's talking about his old cases with fullbands which would make him 50 years older than when the cases were happening (or maybe I'm wrong and they're not his?).  They didn't have nice self-ligating braces or soft wires, etc.  They were limited to medieval torture methods in comparison to modern day tech.

He's currently 95, and I suspect they are his old cases and case notes, judging from when they were.

It's true he isn't the easiest person to understand, even to a native speaker, but how many of us could speak clearly and master technology aged 95?!
