Regarding the quoted post: she actually has upper braces, but they are placed incredibly high on the upper third of her teeth, presumably for cosmetic reasons. You cas see it best on https://dereferer.me/?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Tv7aF7v8Kg at 0:54 minutes
I have seen that several times last year and only in russian women. So there seems to be a particularly technique over there, some special brackets system, ore they just do it...
I would have thoght this is hazardous to your gums. Anybody knows mor about that?
Cheers, webstruggler
I love this look, especially if the person does not tend to show their lower braces.
I found hastags being included with photos on Instagram of these very beautiful braces smiles: #pittsprotocol and #pitts21
I noticed a number of beautiful #polishgirl had this placement of braces also. It seems they use the Damon system of brackets and quite often have a power chain, however the power chain seems not connected to the brackets at the front and just runs long under the braces. This rather spoils the look, especially when they use loud colors of power-chain.
If you research the Pitts 21 Protocol, you would find orthodontists explaining how it creates a smile with a certain curve coming down at the front of the arch. So your presumption of the brackets being placed high on the teeth for cosmetic reasons is close, in that it is done for cosmetic reasons in the resulting smile. You will also see that some patients getting this protocol get other placements of brackets, depending on how much their arch already conforms to the target 'curve' down of the arch.
In extreme closeups you will notice that they narrowly miss the gums, so presumably it is not hazardous to the gums (probably assuming regimented hygiene protocol).
I have witnessed high-placed braces on people in other countries, too, but not as commonly and sometimes not using the Pitts 21 Protocol. There was one girl who asked her ortho in a vlog why her braces were so high on her teeth and he said it was to bring them down so she would show more teeth when she smiled in her later years. (
